Terrace Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA)

Terrace, BC, Canada

Bear Creek donated and delivered gravel to the Terrace Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA) for a new mountain biking trail. The Spring Creek Steinhoe trail, which connects to other trails in the area, has become one of the most popular trails in the community – for bikers and hikers.

Northmen Rugby League

Terrace, BC, Canada

In 2017, the Northmen’s Rugby League, Terrace’s longest standing sports club, needed to upgrade its field at the Northwest Community College campus. Using in-kind equipment from the Bear Creek Group, our employees donated their time to clear, strip and hydro-seed the field for the rugby team.

Skeena Valley Snowmobile Association

Northwest, BC, Canada

The Skeena Valley Snowmobile Association is a club that advocates for snowmobiling in BC. The Bear Creek Group regularly donates lowbeds, equipment and other resources to help maintain snowmobile trails and cabins within the Skeena Valley in Northwest BC.

Terrace Motocross Association

Terrace, BC, Canada

Terrace Motocross has an outdoor facility, with a larger, main track and a novice/kids track, off Highway 37, a 10-minute drive from down. The track is well used and due to the nature of the sport, needs a lot of maintenance. On several occasions, Bear Creek loans equipment to the Motocross Association to complete the work they need done to keep the track safe.

Mr. Mike’s Steakhouse

Terrace, BC, Canada

Every August long weekend, the City of Terrace and residents around Northwest BC celebrate Riverboat Days. As part of this annual celebration, Mr. Mike’s hosts a massive beach volleyball tournament in its parking lot, in downtown Terrace. Every year, Bear Creek Group helps out by trucking in and out the sand needed for the tournament.

REM Lee Hospital Foundation

Terrace, BC, Canada

In 2014/2015 Bear Creek Group participated in a successful, community wide effort to raise $300,000 to purchase a new high-definition, endoscopy suite with a pediatric scope. With this cutting-edge technology, doctors at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace can now effectively test patients for signs of cancer, ulcers, polyps, and irritable bowel syndrome in both adult and children’s gastro-intestinal tracts, which includes your bowels and stomach.

Skeena Valley Golf & Country Club 

Terrace, BC, Canada

In 2014 Bear Creek Group the Skeena Valley Golf & Country Club, a non-profit organization, get ready for the upcoming season. Using Bear Creek’s skidder and compressor, the society unload fertilizer and prepped the irrigation system. Bear Creek also donated the use of its lowbed trailer to the club for the delivery of new equipment, as well as donated 30 loads of sand.

Shames My Mountain Co-op

Northwest BC, Canada

In 2017, Bear Creek repaired and rebuilt Shames Mountain’s only loader so that ski hill operations could continue.

In October of 2014, Shames Mountain needed to do a major repair to its only chair lift. To completed the necessary repairs, a massive bow wheel had to be extracted from the chairlift. Bear Creek Group donated helicopters and pilots from its partner company Lakelse Air so that the project could be completed on time and on budget.

Over the years, Ron King Trucking, one of the Bear Creek Group’s companies, has donated the use of its flatbed trucks for deliveries to the mountain, which is located a minimum 45-minute drive from Prince Rupert, and Terrace.

Community Clean Up

Northwest BC, Canada

Bear Creek employees participate in an annual community clean up. Employees help remove litter off Highway 16, which runs in front of our head office, just outside of Terrace. We also use our machines to clean up the wooded, crown land that surrounds our facilities.
